Features
DISPLAY
The LIFEPAK 1000 defibrillator includes features such as a CPR countdown timer, ECG capability (manual mode), a shock counter, and programmable settings – all on a large, easy-to-read LCD screen. The readiness indicator is at the top of the unit situated near the speaker, you will also find a green on/off button and a red shock button placed on the front. The ECG appearing on the screen is a nondiagnostic ECG, obtained through the therapy electrodes or the Lead II ECG cable. The presence of an ECG does not ensure that the patient has a pulse.
CPR FEEDBACK
The 1000 features exclusive cpr MAX technology, which gives you the flexibility to choose CPR settings that best accommodate your patient and CPR protocol requirements. The pre-shock CPR option allows adjustment of the CPR interval prior to the first shock, minimizing pre-shock pauses by allowing providers to continue compressions while the AED charges. The heart rate indicator displays heart rates between 20 – 300 bpm. The indicator is present in Manual mode or when the 3-wire ECG cable is used.
A PERSONAL COACH AT YOUR SIDE
Loud voice prompts and on-screen graphics provide clear guidance on applying electrodes and initiating a shock to help ensure user confidence. An ENERGY DELIVERED message will display after each shock, as well as a START CPR message that is aided by a countdown timer. This intuitive unit also recognizes motion and interference, ECG is disabled when motion is detected in order to prevent the system from reaching an incorrect decision.
ACTIVE STATUS INDICATOR
The OK symbol appears in the display if the daily self-test is completed successfully. A battery symbol that approximates the remaining state of charge is also visible. If the self-test detects that service is required, the OK symbol disappears and the service wrench symbol appears. The defibrillator performs automatic self-tests daily and monthly at 0300 (3:00 a.m.) if not in use. During the automatic self-test, the defibrillator turns itself on (ON/OFF LED illuminates) briefly and completes the following tasks: Performs a self-test, stores the self-test results in the Test Log, and then turns itself off.
BATTERY LIFE
440 discharges at 200 joules or 4 years with daily self-testing.
DESIGNED FOR THE REAL WORLD
The LIFEPAK 1000 is simple to use for trained responders, but it also provides an easy, highly compatible transition to ALS care teams. The shock counter on the 1000 gives next-level care teams insight into the treatment provided. Its electrodes are the same ones used on LIFEPAK ALS monitors— the brand of choice of BLS/ALS teams across the country making patient transfer easier than ever!
AWARD WINNING DESIGN
Escalating energy up to 360 Joules, for difficult-to-defibrillate patients. This unit also allows for the option of stacked shocks, up to three consecutive shocks without interposed CPR.
RUGGED AND DURABLE
Built for harsh environments, the LIFEPAK 1000 AED withstands rigorous drop-testing from any angle and is enclosed in a highly protective case with bumpers. This unit is designed to ride along in a vehicle without damage from continuous vibrations and other movement. In addition, the 1000 has received an IP55 rating—for dust and water resistance.
READILY RECORDED DATA
Compatibility with other LIFEPAK defibrillators and monitors helps speed the transition to the next level of care. Post-event patient and performance data can be easily viewed, analyzed, and managed with CODE-STAT data review software – helping to target training needs. The LIFEPAK 1000 defibrillator digitally records patient data, including ECG rhythm and delivered shocks. Recorded data may be transferred from the defibrillator to a PC using an infrared connection. The PC must have one of the LIFENET® products installed to collect and review the recorded patient data.
SAFE AND EFFECTIVE LIFE-SAVING TECHNOLOGY
The LIFEPAK 1000 defibrillator provides a Manual mode to override the AED features of the defibrillator. Manual mode provides operator-initiated analysis, charge, shock, and disarm functions. This mode is useful in a tiered response system when a provider trained in manual defibrillation and authorized to place the defibrillator in Manual mode takes over the scene from a BLS-AED-trained provider.
